Pre-Ordering an MMO is like Pre-Ordering Cancer!

Big box titles are starting to get better and better upon release. Many are actually good enough to warrant a pre-release sale. But spitting up cash for an online game goes much further than depending on the game in question being of quality.

You have to take into consideration the network behind it, the amount of staff the publisher will keep on after launch. How ong has the work been in beta and does the developer have a positive track record? Are the games they made before crap? If so then it's and indication that they may not have such a great quality asurance department, perhaps they would secretly like an open beta with paying customers.

And you don't want to be on the receiving end of that ladle when the untested software gravy train rolls into town now do you? That's what I mean when I say pre-ordering an MMO is like pre-ordering cancer, theres lots of different possibilities and you never know what sort you might end up with.
