MySpace Mobsters

MySpace Mobsters Is Highly Addictive!

Recently a close relative introduced me to a game you can play on MySpace called mobsters. I had been meaning to establish a MySpace page anyway so I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone. Long story short, before I knew it I was addicted to the damn game! Assassins Creed dailies have had to be shelved as I have sunk into an endless cycle of mob violence.

Just a few of weapons of minor destruction ;)

Myspace is about friends, Mobsters is about killing them!
In order to play the game your going to need a MySpace account, this is no trivial thing friends. There are forms to fill out and don't go faking your information either. Be honest with the public and let them know who you really are. Or you could fill out bogus info and put up pictures of cuddly kittens stuffed in mugs. Your choice really.

A quick tour of myspace.com/cruelgamer reveals i am a friend adding whore

It's time to stop joking, death is a serious thing!
Once you get on your toes in this game it's off and running. Game play is easy to learn and in a single evening you will have probably beaten the crap out of lots of people. Most people seem to have a casual interest in this game which is for me the fun part. I play it like a full contact sport in order to entertain my readers, the result is lots and lots of dead mobsters.

Picking My Victims And Leaving Them Strangled
We are not doing this mobster thing for fun. NO, we are doing it for imaginary money. Part of choosing a good target is guessing how much money you will earn if you win a fight. Making sure your enemy has nice property and is known in the banking community certainly yields results.

Gameplay is simple, this small notification on killing a mark is strangely satisfying.

One of the sweetest things in life is candy the other is money
Sometimes greed makes people do bad things in order to get what they want. Instead of wacking someone in the head with a crowbar the Mobsters MySpace app takes the violence out of the real world and places it into a virtual one where nobody can get harmed. Either that or the real reason behind the game is to convince casual gamers to stalk down and kill each other in real life.

This guy has lots of neat stuff, but i have lots of neat guns ;)

The Casual Experience Is Nothing To Take Lightly
Being able to login at any moment and have a full sleigh of activities to participate in makes mobsters an ideal way to kill time. The fact that every character is persistent and gains power over time and through grinding make it an easy game to get addicted to. Combining real life contacts and virtual friends through the use of my space accounts also adds a bit of surreal fun to the mix. The real trick to this game however is a little something many people miss entirely though.

If You Don't Have Real Friends Make Some Up
Remember when I told you that I was meaning to setup a MySpace account. Well i did its http://www.MySpace.com/cruelgamer Just a few days ago I had never created an account but due to this game I not only have an account but over 250 "friends" as well Let's be honest, it's friendly in a way that I don't want to pass out around them or forget my wallet, or borrow a cup of sugar. You know what I mean right? Internet Friends!

Best friends forever gang, at least till i collect all 500 of you fine citizens!

The Addicting Part Is Finding Friends
This is going to sound lame corny and gay all at the same time, and by gay i mean absolutely fabulous. The funnest part about MySpace mobsters is finding new friends to join your game. And by find i don't mean seek who has the most common interests with you, I mean find as in search in the under arm pits of the Internet and do whatever it takes to get a big mob capable of squeezing the little guys!

Tips

Save Your God Father Points
These special points are hard to come by it's better if you save them up instead of cashing them in right away. The God Father will give you 1000$ for every level you have accumulated at the expense of 10 points. This is by far the most rewarding of his gifts. But try to avoid using them as long as you can, the benefits are worth it!

The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions
Avoid personal vendettas if you can, every once and a while a friend asks me to beat someones brains in, I agree since real life nagging is not as painful as missing a turn. BUT you will miss out on money if you get too cought up, better to get your cash together first then go on a killing spree.

Oops I Make It personal For Fun
I'm not nearly as cold hearted and calculating as I am in this game. But that's part of the fun, when you wipe a rival mobster out post a comment to make them feel appreciated. Or piss them off really badly, who knows if you leave your profile url they might even join you mob.

When the moons in howling distance
The best time to play this game is late at night, after all the salary slaves goto sleep you can wreck havoc on anyone. Beat them all into submission it doesn't matter they will never be as great as you anyway right? But if they do get the itch to retaliate make sure you mob is rock solid and deep in numbers

But You Don't Deserve To Be Rich
The best payouts come from whacking mobsters who are good at making lots of cash. I have had payouts as high as 70k per fight and this is good money to invest in better weapons.

People Power
The game encourages you to add friends to your mob in order to increase your power. People have to accept your invites and you must add them to your MySpace profile. This get's a bit ugly so I recommend setting up a new MySpace account, otherwise you might regret adding 300 random people later on in life.

Building Your Mob
Getting big numbers is less like a snowball fight and more like an avalanche. The initial part is the most difficult but once momentum picks up, people will actually look for you instead of you looking for them. Here are a few key things to do while building your mob. It's not that hard but it is time consuming.

  1. Always leave a comment after a fight with your profile url
  2. Always post a bulletin with your profile url daily
  3. Surf the profiles of people in your mob, look under their groups. You will probably find one that's full of people they don't know but have added just for mobsters. These guys are fair game so send some invites to them.
